More on our Windows It was necessary in the "new" building to supplement the picture windows with additional glass to fill the Gothic arches above each window. Mr. Horace Castor, the architect, suggested the quarter foil medallions, with harmonizing religious symbols, which appear in the apex of each of these arches. Many members of and visitors to the church have remarked about these designs and inquired as to their meanings. With this in mind the Pastor at the time, the Reverend B. Smith Stull compiled a series of talks on these symbols for the children of the Church. Mr. Horace Castor, a member of the congregation and the architect who designed the church was instrumental in gathering the information on these emblems. Mr. Castor loaned the Pastor a book on Christian symbols which was written by the man who made both our windows and medallions: "Illustrated Symbols and Emblems", H. J. Smith; Leach and Co., Philadelphia, 1900
